Introduction

Remote monitoring equipment for Type F level crossings indicates the condition of active control warning equipment.

Instructions for operating level crossing remote monitoring equipment are in the relevant equipment operation manual.

Responding to display indications

Qualified Worker

  1. Regularly check display indications.
  2. If the display indication is WARNING, tell the Signals Maintenance Representative to investigate.
  3. If the display indication is FAULT, tell the Signaller to treat the level crossing as potentially faulty.
  4. If the display indication is REMINDER, tell the Signals Maintenance Representative that a previous warning or fault has not been investigated.
  5. If the display indicates that a level crossing has not been tested within the required time, tell the Signaller:
    1. that the level crossing has not been tested, and
    2. to treat the crossing as potentially faulty.
